Indian efforts to contain the virus[]
- The Union Health Ministry of India held a high-level meeting here with experts from National Institute of Communicable Diseases and Indian Council of Medical Research, to work out preliminary containment measures if the virus is reported in Asia
- All travelers flying into India from Mexico, the United States, Canada, New Zealand and France would be individually checked for flu symptoms such as fever and upper respiratory tract infection
- India has also stockpiled one million doses of "Tamiflu", the only medicine that could be effective in treating swine flu and labs will be set up to test suspected human samples of swine flu
